Curious about the URL: Comic Theologian?  It occurs to me that for women to do theology is in many senses a ‘comic’ exercise.  By ‘comic’ is it meant that it is ludicrous or amusing?  Hardly.  ‘Comedy’ describes a literary genre—usually drama—that narrates an epic tale, usually involving the triumph over adverse circumstances—and usually with a happy or successful conclusion.  Sounds a bit like women doing theology, eh?!?  We are comic theologians—full of hope, success, and a bit of satire. 

Plus… theology in general is simply a funny enterprise.  Those of us involved in it professionally (that is, by ‘profession’) are bound to failure–we invariably fall short.
